Common Blue Damselfly

Another windy day, but warm and mostly sunny.  It clouded over by teatime, and raining tonight.

Up early, and headed out walkies with Sammy after breakfast.  We popped along Madeline's for a cuppa on our way home.  Mam and dad came along.  Me and mam headed nort for a run in the afternoon.  We came upon some orca whales at Eshaness, and then popped by cousin Eileen and family at Heylor.  A quiet evening at home, hopefully more walkies this evening, if the rain stops, and then feet up.

Great to see more whales today, but I was super excited when we came across this Common Blue Damselflies.  I never knew we got dragonflies in Shetland, but mam says she remembered them from her childhood.  I wonder if they are making a come back due to less pesticides and other chemicals being used on crops and fields?  Such delicate things, and so pretty to see, even if they are fast.  Hope they make a successful comeback.  Taken at the Loch of Breckon, Eshaness.
