A belated entry for Armed Forces Day

After doing my weekly shopping at Waitrose (very quiet on Monday morning, everyone wearing face masks), I walked down the High Street, whch I haven't done for 4 months.  About a quarter of the shops are open (no customers, but it was early on Monday morning, never a busy time).  About a quarter of the shops had lease for rent signs (not a good sign).  And about a half were closed indefinitely.

Thame has a small but well looked after Memorial Garden with a First World War memorial unveiled by the Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, in 1921, updated for all conflicts since, a Lest We Forget figure and a memorial bench.  There's also a 75 years since VE Day flower garden and an Armed Forces Day flag just out of sight.  There were a few well spaced locals, elderly gentlemen, mother and kids, enjoying the quiet and peace.
