New Forth Crossing revisited

Here is another photo of the northermost caisson of the new Forth crossing.

The construction of the bridge is work that must continue regardless of th weather. Taking this photo today I was struggling to stay upright against the wind - I had to stand with one foot behind the other, braced to try to keep stable in the wind. Thank goodness there was lots of light - I couldn't hold the camera stable for any length of time!

The white markings on the caisson are, I guess, depth indicators. The lowest one visible is 28m.

There's a great article on the construction at http://www.nce.co.uk/features/geotechnical/forth-replacement-crossing-sinking-support/8631507.article
