Downtown Train

For the first time in over three months I went on the train to Glasgow today from our village station and just realised how much I had missed this journey. The train was immaculate and only one person in the carriage (wearing a mask) which is mandatory on public transport in Scotland.

My album of the day is "Somewhere Under Wonderland" by Counting Crows, at the time the band's first original material in six years. The opening track "Palisades Park" is over eight minutes long with so many mood and tempo changes, I felt I was experiencing bipolar disorder. Duritz's raspy voice, catchy choruses backed by a well oiled engine of a band, makes this album distinctively Counting Crows, enjoy the highs and endure the lows.
