Smiling in the rain

We didn't expect it to rain all day! It was cold too. Is it really July?
G and Marky went golfing and Kalyn and I went for a refreshing walk down the trails and to the dock at Xwaaqw'um. We saw a guy on the dock who looked like he was enjoying the scenery. When we talked to him, he told us that he'd been stretching at the edge of the dock, lost his balance, and fell in! Luckily he was near the ladder at the end of the dock and was able to climb out easily. He didn't seem cold or anxious to be on his way, chatted with us for quite awhile. He was riding his bike back to his friends' place - not a pleasant ride on such a wet, cold day, I'm sure, but he didn't seem bothered!
When we got home, we bundled up and played crib on the porch, listening to the rain in the forest. G and Marky got home after us and said that golf was good. No fair weather golfers, them!  Tasty galettes for supper and a relaxing evening (all of us were tired).
They're heading home tomorrow.   :-((
