Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Swords into Plowshares

Growing up there were parades and fireworks, we decorated our bikes and had American flags everywhere.  Have also spent many 4ths at the island with family and the flags and sparklers and noise makers we could have.   This year in Seattle we could have seen the big show by our condo on Lake Union.   All cancelled.   the good part is we don’t have to contend with the crowds that gathered in our neighborhood to watch the fireworks.  There have been a few loud fireworks every night from across the lake,.   Wondering what will happen tonight.  Independence Day in 1776 is what we’re celebrating.  (NOT the state of the country today)

H and I took a walk in Magnusen Park …it was surprisingly very uncrowded!    Not sure I’ve ever blipped this Fin project artwork from here before….. A field of Orca fins?  They’re actually fins from Nuclear Sub made into artwork...all kinds of metaphors can be thought of..  by a UW professor in 1998.   They looked great with the flowers in the grass and those puffy clouds today.  You could learn more  HERE

Nice weather --dinner will be on the deck...potato and green salads, veggie sausage, and strawberry/rhubarb pie !
A friend left us a beautiful red white and blue centerpiece.   (Extra)
Added another extra... as we were eating on the deck there was this wonderful concert blasting away on one of the floating home roof decks....
And another later... a good show
