Bounty

After all the rain we’ve been having, thought I’d better check that the strawberries weren’t rotting so took a walk up to the allotment. No problems as it turned out but probably because Jo’s been up weeding the beds and harvesting. Still enough ripe berries for a strawberry, yogurt and whippy cream dessert though! Picked a little bit of rocket too as it’s getting out of hand but that was it, too lazy to do any real work. Looks like there’s going to be a fruit bonanza this year, the apple trees are laden and there are pears, cherries, plums, berries of all kinds ripening away. Not on our plot though! Although we do have a better fig crop than last year, something to look forward to.

We watched a Danish film tonight, Men and Chickens, which was billed as a black comedy. I’ll be generous and put it down to badly translated sub-titles but that’s two hours of our lives we’re never getting back!
