*chortle*

i took some nice shots this lunchtime of the village church, all blue skies behind and yellow daffs in front (there's one here on facebook, if you're interested), but this is shot of the day - about five seconds after i took this, the dove overbalanced and fell off :-)

there are a pair of these collared doves visit my parents' garden, but they are so blonde (sorry to all blondes out there, but...) and it's hilarious - despite the fact that the ground underneath the feeders is always covered in dropped seed, they insist on trying to feed directly, and the fact that they fall off regularly doesn't seem to have led them to formulate a different plan. d'oh.

the goldfinches are wonderful, but refused to turn up this morning; the blue tits and coal tits are too speedy for my shutter finger; the blackbird and his apple are just out of range in the back yard; the robin is only around when the camera is elsewhere and the gazillion sparrows are too damn dull and brown for a blip. i do love the birdlife in this garden (there are even semi-tame pheasants come for peanuts now and again), tho the dawn chorus is actually louder than the traffic in my street! a spot of nature is nice tho, i need a dose every now and again.

btw, backblipped a couple of days from here
