Stratford

I had to go to the surgery for a blood test this morning.  The good news is that it is now in range and I don't have to go back for four weeks.  We decided to take a look round Stratford whilst we were there.  The demolishing of the Picture House is going ahead to make room for yet another Travelodge, a future picture for Derelict Sunday maybe?

We walked down Henley Street.  It was still quiet though some of the shops and cafes were open but of course there were no tourists, I was the only one waving a camera around.  Towards the end of the street we reached Nero, known to a lot of my blip followers as our favourite watering hole; it was OPEN!  We had a little debate out on the street before we decided to risk it.  Although we sat outside at first the loud singing of the busker opposite drove us inside.  The place had been kitted out with social distancing and a one-way system so felt safe enough.  Ann insisted on a selfie to prove we had actually made it back into Nero after four months.

On the subject of Stratford cafes we heard today that Pret a Manger on Henley Street will probably not be reopening .
