Joe’s Garage

I was at the village garage at 8am this morning, car was booked in for a MOT and service. Small queue outside reception all maintaining two metre social distancing etiquette. The extra blip is the garage owners "guard dog" a real sweetie, you can see the real guard dogs paws. My wife had her first "virtual hospital appointment" with the Burns Unit today, not convinced yet about online appointments.

My album of the day is "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. The four note riff on "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" the bookend around which the album would be built, became legendary in its own right. Emotionally charged songs, soulful guitar playing, Floyd were at a creative high point at the time. A sort of goodbye to Syd Barrett and not a bad track on the album.

On this day in 1976 I saw Genesis on the first of two nights in concert. From memory Phil Collins was the vocalist by this time. A good night and one of the best after show parties at the White Elephant Club.
