Cucurbita pepo

but I don't know which. Plenty of these triffids have emerged from our compost. I hope they aren't the bitter gourds which ruined a meal last year. Maybe they are pumpkins or marrows but I'd love them to be courgettes. Elsewhere, some melons may be beginning to feel their roots.
