Leeches

We had a visit to Arnside to deliver honey, and then a walk at Gait Barrows to gather fire wood. Down at the little Haweswater Lake the stream was so clear that the leeches were plainly visible! The biggest were probably 10cm long and we did not dare put our feet in the water!
They are the rare medicinal leech as used in old tales and supposedly a good treatment for some ailments but I think I would have to be blindfolded to allow that!
My honey bees were busy this afternoon hopefully gathering lime flower honey we shall see.
