Boats

We took my mother-in-law and her dog to Saint-Suliac today. It's a pretty village a few kilometres south on the River Rance. It used to be a small fishing port but since the barrage was built it's now cut off from the sea. You can still cross the barrage via a lock but it's no longer a direct access and the river doesn't have natural tides any more.

The weather was nice and it was quite busy, with lots of foreigners too. I can't say that people were showing proper social distancing and there were very few masks being worn. The problem is that with so few cases locally people don't know someone who has died so no one take it's seriously any more. I know people in the UK who have lost family members so take it deadly seriously, round here the only cases we had were brought in by special medical train from Paris and the Great East.

The village is very pretty, though more touristy than when we camped there on our first holiday in Brittany 17 years ago. We often cycle to the village on our Sunday rides, though not to it to stop, as it is a bit of zoo in high season.
