Harebells

Made a foray to Tesco this morning and was very pleased to see a crop of harebells (Campanula rotundifolia, apparently) coming up in the vacant lot where they demolished the old peoples' home on John's Place. I read that they thrive on poor soil - well, they certainly found some here! Mostly builders rubble.

Noted that about 95% of the people in Tesco were wearing masks - the few that weren't had a belligerent air. Don't know if the staff had challenged them or just warned them to wear one next time....DH went up town in search of socks and saw one person refused entry to a shop for not having a mask ('Very arse-y about it', was his description).
