Pictures at an exhibition

Socially distanced chilled white wine and delicious home-made food this evening, on John C's terrace. Not quite as warm or sunny as forecast, but we had gone prepared for the weather, and it was very pleasant eating al fresco whilst admiring J's fabulous garden and the views over Humbleton and Glendale.

Once we'd finally finished putting the world (Cummings Boris and his motley crew, mostly) to rights, without mincing words, J offered to show us the paintings he's completed since lockdown began. He brought them outside for a mini exhibition on the bench. The light was beginning to fade by then, but you get the idea - they're inspired by the landscape he can see from his windows, and the photo does them little justice.

Home after a lovely evening, the 'damage' became apparent! The downside of enjoying the fresh air in this part of the world is the midges, and once the sun went down they came out in force. MrM and I are trying not to scratch...
