Usha Gap, backblip 1

After a little last-minute packing, MrM drove us down to Usha Gap campsite in Swaledale in North Yorkshire, stopping in Rothbury en route to pick up some lunch. Arrived at the campsite mid-afternoon, and for the first time pitched the tent 'extension' to the van. After we sold our ancient caravan, we bought the van to use at folk festivals when we have trade stalls, and just before the start of the pandemic acquired the extension to go with it. Since then, no festivals, no stalls...

Anyway, it was surprisingly easy to erect - especially given the lack of any written instructions - and was in place before the rain started. With a 'bed-roll futon' in the back of the van, and the rest of our camping gear in the 'tent', it turned out to be very comfortable holiday accommodation.

Just time for a walk to the nearby village of Muker after the rain stopped.
