There are two people missing from this family group picture, my Auntie Do and my mother, who I think took the picture. For some reason three families all set out from Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield for a picnic in the Peak District, which was consumed halfway up a hill. Do's family (Philip, Elizabeth, Gillian) were visiting from Bideford in Devon.
From left to right are Philip, my father, self, Elizabeth, my brother, Gillian and, all from the same family, Helen, Mark, Derek and Kay (obscured by her pooch).
The Family - Nothing Compares 2 U (1985)
Prince wrote this song over five years before Sinead O'Connor recorded it. He did not record it himself but produced and played on the original version by The Family that had a Prince-like lead vocal by St Paul (Paul Peterson). It was on their self-titled album but not released as a single, so few people knew of the song prior to Sinead's version.
