Fetterangus Kirkyard

A fine set of mortality symbols including a winged soul and a skeleton on a gravestone in Fetterangus Kirkyard. The winged soul represents the soul leaving the body at the moment of death, the skeleton requires no explanation. The stone is dated 1710. The extra shows the ivy clad ruins of a tiny Chapel said to have been founded by St Fergus in the 12th century.
