Sign of the confusing times.

His and hers.
The material ones made for us by a lovely friend in exchange for sending food vouchers to her church Food Bank.
Meanwhile in Parliament a rogue MP pulled off a very British coup by getting himself elected as Chair of the Intelligence and Security Committee, thus upstaging Boris’s preferred choice for which he expected his loyal cohorts to shoe in!
Opposition MP’s were all in stitches afterwards! One of them had approached this “rogue” and said he would deliver him the votes if he would put his name forward.
A bit of light relief for the day as Chris Grayling whom Boris wanted (probably because he would do as he was told) is known for several legendary incidents such as awarding contracts to three ferry firms to run extra services after Brexit, easing pressure on the Dover to Calais route.
One of them did not have any ferries at all!! You can’t make it up can you!
And Boris wanted him to chair the Intelligence Committee.
No wonder there was a lot of smirking going on last night at Westminster!
Meantime two Zoom “test”calls this morning with two of the people in French Conversation group as we’d had problems with the sound on Monday. All seems to be fine now.
Then a sandwich lunch followed by a visit from my friend this afternoon. Some of it spent trying to help her with finding the right words to certain things she was trying to say. Her speech wasn’t as good today. It must be SO frustrating knowing in your head but not being able to make the words come out correctly.
But it was good to see her.
Almost time for tea and I’ve a letter to finish off to our son and daughter-in-law to put in with her birthday card and post. Her birthday is Sunday.
(I sent the gift earlier this week).
As I’ve been sitting here in the summerhouse the blackbird has wandered in looking for me to give him some sultanas.
Still trying to catch up with blips but I’ll get there!
