Trailing Leaves

Overnight rain left a heavy feeling to the morning air and with more thunderstorms predicted starting at 1pm, I felt the urge to get my photography in early. A bright sky picked out a few big yellow leaves on the trailing branch of a linden tree. Against the darker vegetation behind, they appeared quite luminous.

In the absence of a taller tripod, I was left with a few to many bright sky holes that rather spoilt the effect. Rather than reducing their exposure which would not really address the problem, I opted to clone them out. I lightened some of the background in places to give a bit of depth. Not too shabby.
