Stuff and Nonsense

Swallow #61

Today we left our home for our first night away since February. We have 3 nights booked in self catering Holiday Property Bond accommodation at Henllys on Anglesey. It has been booked for over a year and we thought we would have to cancel it along with the rest of our trips/outings this year. But as the Welsh government very kindly opened up S/C accommodation last weekend, we were delighted to receive notice that it was still on.
None of the communal areas, pool, games room, laundry, library etc are open, but that doesn’t bother us at all. We have all we need to have a change of scenery and not see many people at all.
We stopped off on the way at a couple of nature reserves for a leg stretch but there was not so much wildlife to be seen at all. It was very windy, so few butterflies were landing, but I did do 2 counts for the Big Butterfly Count that started today. Here’s a link if you want to get involved - it only takes 15 minutes.
My blip today is a couple of swallows - juveniles I think - but they were very far away and didn’t stay for long, but it’s the best I can do today in the absence of the red squirrels on site that did not come to say hello today. I hope to capture them at some stage over the weekend.

Just about to Sit down to chicken fajitas, as prepared by my lovely husband.

Have a great weekend everyone.
