A time for everything

Time for a trim!

Wednesday
It was time for our oak tree to have a trim - the foliage had become very thick and dense, and while we appreciate its shade on the patio on these hot sunny days, the shade was likewise too dense. Also, I hadn’t realized until it was done, how much it affects the light in the breakfast room- so that is also lighter now. If you look closely at the center photograph you can just make out the guy in the tree in his yellow waistcoat - rather him than me! He seemed as at home high up in the branches as I do on terra firma! The bottom photo shows two of the clean-up guys feeding the branches into the mulcher . We’ve had it done twice before, though the last time we weren’t actually here to see it done, as we were living in France at the time, but our neighbour across the street who was watching the house for us confirmed that they had been and done the work! He was at it for a couple of hours! They also did a very good job of cleaning up all the debris. Later in the afternoon, we went to the outdoor pool for a swim, then in the evening, moved the patio furniture and flower containers back onto the patio.
