Cake time!

James has impressively rapid mental maths but hates washing up. Instead of using a separate bowl to weigh out the ingredients (an extra item to wash up), he therefore just adds the weight of each ingredient as it goes in to calculate what the cumulative total of ingredients in the bowl should be. This makes my brain hurt.

We now have new scales with an ‘on zero‘ button though, so I too can avoid an extra item of washing up!
