Escorted Off The Premises

Having spent the morning stripping wallpaper from the living room walls, Tess & I took a stroll across the fields behind Walton this afternoon.

We took a footpath we'd not tried before across fields of sheep, cows with some very young calves and, eventually, one which was home to these two horses. They came running up to greet us but, when they discovered we hadn't any food for them, insisted on escorting us across the field, literally a nose behind us. I could feel the bigger one's hot breath on my neck and expected a nudge in the back to tell me to get a move on at any moment.

We obviously made a comical and entertaining sight as a couple in their allotment in the next field had stopped work and were following our progress with some amusement.
