The Great Wall of Dalkey

George and Daphne were so hypnotised by the beauty of the bay bathed in sunshine that they failed to notice the piece de resistance behind them: the Great Wall of Dalkey.
Built between 420 and 1250, it is 6,700 kilometres long, with an average height of 8 meters and a width of 3 meters.
It protected the kingdom of Dalkey from successive waves of barbarian invasions: the Aztecs in 612, the Huns in 813, the Apaches in 1243, the Moors in 1377, the Bourguignons in 1765, the Aborigines in 1893 and lastly the Starbucks in 2012.
