No Mist

...rolling in and no one was singing but we’ve spent a lovely day exploring the peninsular. It’s been a gorgeous day and we headed south from Carradale after breakfast and meandered our way to Campbeltown before taking the coastal route to the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse.

My main blip is our lunchtime view at Dunaverty...looking over to Ireland. We even stuck our toes in the Irish Sea...pleased to say it passed the toe test but I don’t think I’d have been up for a swim! In extras: a sea anemone for Tiny Tuesday along with some tinier barnacles; the beautiful remains of Saddell Abbey, such a lovely tranquil spot and a view towards Islay over the lighthouse. The walk down to the lighthouse was horrendously steep...a full mile of it, then of course we had to climb up it again! Luckily we made it back to the car as the first drops of rain fell. Feeling quite pleased with myself as I couldn’t have walked it before lockdown...so much fitter now!

We hit very lucky with our accommodation (second time round)...a small hotel with lovely friendly owners so we’re staying 3 nights before hitting the road again on Thursday.

Thanks to dbifulco for hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.
