Disaster Followed By Joy

Woke up this morning feeling fine, until I noticed that Heat Pump Control Panel #1 was "dead". An unheard of state. On the two occasions something has gone wrong in the last eleven years there is usually a flashing light and a fault code. Today nothing.

A trip to the "boiler room" aka "crypt" aka "tool store" showed that the outside unit had "tripped" its fuse. Trouble for sure.

To cut a long story short, following a quick response and visit from the engineer and a much longer discussion we are looking at replacing the complete unit. Although the most expensive option in the short term, it makes far more sense in the long term and brings promises of more heat for less power.

That was the disaster.

The joy was a phone call from our godson Euan, the thirty year old "puppy" of Mr and Mrs Dog, who proposed to Sophie Chalmers and she has accepted.

"Let joy be unconfined!" Which we promptly did with a bottle of rather fine Prosecco.

S and E are coming for a socially distanced lunch on Thursday which we are all looking forward to.

Sophie and I may be distantly related as we both share the name Chalmers through our forebears. I don’t think there are too many Chalmers to the Pound and if it was really of great import we might investigate.

Today’s Blipfoto? I was working at my desk at 5:30 a.m. and glanced to see the green light projected by the sun onto a nearby bookcase.

Green light for go.
