Beleaguered

I have been peering at my poor beleaguered orchid for signs of mealy bugs. I found two cosying up in the base of the leaves. The plant was whipped away into the kitchen sink, where I scrubbed the leaves, washed off the soil and removed the damaged-looking roots.

I repotted it into a plastic gin glass (don’t ask) with lots of vermiculite for drainage because I couldn’t find a suitable tool to poke holes in the glass with. I fed and watered the orchid, then put it back in its spot.

I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
