An Updated Board

I had to pop into town this morning for milk, bread etc and thought I'd have a look at the demolition starting at Budgens (see Extra), then noticed the board had been updated so that was my blip sorted. On the local news today it was reported that the fire was caused by an electrical fault. I managed to get the old shrub root ball and trunk out today and have watered the ground so it will hopefully be easier to dig out the remaining roots and stones tomorrow.

I found out today that my PPI claim was successful as made on the deadline day at the end of August last year. My complaint was about not being told about the large commissions paid, so thanks to the Martin Lewis programme for the info about this aspect of mis-selling and for encouraging us to claim even though I didn't have PPI for that long.

Day 129 / Full Day 121 of Lockdown / Day 19 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 79 to 45,501 with new daily cases up by 560. Deaths in Mexico pass 40,000. President Trump restarted his virus briefings yesterday, saying the pandemic in the US may 'get worse before it gets better' and finally asking all Americans to wear a mask. Govt publishes new guidance for care homes to restart visits. An ONS survey found that 52% of parents thought their child had struggled with home education with causes including a lack of motivation (77%). a lack of guidance and support (43%) and a lack of devices (9%). A linked report on Parenting in lockdown found that 64 mins a day was spent on developmental childcare (teaching and helping with homework) and that women did 2/3 more of the childcare than men  (largely the washing, feeding, dressing bit!). Also that women still did the majority of the housework. Joe Wicks did the last of his online PE sessions today, throughout lockdown it's raised £580k for NHS Charities Together.
