Busy hands

Phone in one hand, fag in the other, although it wasn't tobacco I smelled.
A cooler morning with the cloud cover, but it heated up in the afternoon. A neighbour came down to pick up some beets, and it was far too hot to chat, but we did for awhile.
I planted some more lettuce, spinach and onions in the bed that the garlic was in.  As if we don't have enough lettuce - but some of it is past its prime now and the spinach has bolted.
Our friend David, whose wife Gill passed away a couple of months ago, is coming for lunch tomorrow. I haven't seen him since Gill died. It's going to be difficult not to give him a hug.  :-(  G has seen him at golf.
