Proofreading

Call me weird, but I love proofreading. I think it’s the discipline and the quest for perfection. My first job as a librarian, in 1965, included proofreading library catalogue entries, and it was then that I learned the more common proofreaders’ marks.
 
Today I am proofreading a legal text for my sister. We don’t use proofreaders’ marks of course. Does anyone? There is software that does what they did and so much more. But I still love proofreading, especially when it’s in the family like this.
