Windmill 'Hoop Doet Leven', Made

(sound like 'MAH-duh')
'Hoop doet leven' = 'Hope doot layvun' = 'When there is hope, there is life.'

Still thrilled about yesterday's adventure and can't wait to do it again!

AW and I went windmill-hunting today.  I wanted to look for one a little further away so that he could practice sitting in a car for a longer period of time, but there was not much time left in the afternoon -- he had to be on time for online bridge in the evening.  We ended up in Made, which is about a 12-minute drive away.  He even remembered that when I had shot it about 6 years ago, he had also gone with me.  We located it quickly -- it is in the middle of the village, in the middle of the parking area of a supermarket.  Today, compared to last time, it was facing in a convenient direction.  I like the way many windmills are built on a mound -- the entrance on the side of the mound allowed farmers to drive their grain directly under the mill, saving everyone from carrying anything, and this could then be milled straight away.  Many mills today still grind grain, and the flour is then sold as an authentic product of the local windmill and allowed to have a bit of a fancy price, like a tourist souvenir.  Don't be fooled, though, as many locals and local bakeries buy it.

Fabulously MOOCkless, so the usual housework, some colouring, and some Outlanding.  AW has been exercising his back regularly and is feeling much better, and my head has cleared somewhat, too.
