A Day In The Life

Cave Dwellers

We were up extra early to beat the heat and humidity, or at least to minimize it. I watered plants, filled the feeders, freshened up the birdbath and cleared the house and landscape walls of grass clippings and spider webs before calling it quits. I was already drippy warm by 1030 am • We’re now hunkered down inside with the blinds and drapes closed to keep out the sun. Fans going too. This pretty much sums up our plan for the next several days • One plus was not seeing a Wallenda Brother until after a few birds got a chance to eat, like this beautiful male house finch. Normally the six Wallendas take over every feeder in the lilacs and refuse to leave unless yours truly steps out and growls • Enjoy your Saturday and for those feeling the heat, stay as cool as you can!
