Crown Jewels

In contrast to my last post for bee balm, I chose a high key treatment for this image. Today was roasting, with a blazing sun, so it seems appropriate. To be fair this is taken a month earlier this year, so the colour may well deepen, or perhaps the previous image was made in low light, but here the purple bee balm seems much lighter in colour.

I love the out of focus yellows and purples in the background which seem like an impressionist painting.

I think this is one of very few times I chose to use a reverse vignette. Lightening the corners seems to work well with the bright tones.
