Spatial Awareness

The light was very soft when I took this shot 20 minutes or so before the sun went down. Using an extension tube again allowed me to get quite close to the tiny meadow rue flowers.

When editing, I was suddenly reminded to pay attention to the negative space and in particular to make the negative shapes interesting and varied. I hadn't thought about that in a while. For that reason I cropped in on the right to a 7x5. I also reduced the saturation of the green leaves a touch to make the flowers seem more intense. Everything's relative.

The image of a globe thistle (extra) is quite striking, like one of those optical illusions that makes your eyes go funny.
