Life in Sunny Dubai

IKEA DFC

Another morning flew by. I spent an hour trying to get things in place for the end of August. I then finally returned a phone call from an old school friend who had got in touch last month to ask how we are faring during Coronavirus lockdown. She lives in Islamabad. We had a really good long chat and a much-needed catch-up.

A lot of the afternoon was spent sussing out how Mailchimp works. I'm loving how much tech is out there to make lift easier simplify tasks. Marketers of old would be so impressed! (In case anyone isn't familiar with it, Mailchimp is an app that helps design, send and track email marketing campaigns. G uses it to deliver the content for the Summer Fun Club).

We went to Festival City in the late afternoon. Our first stop was at IKEA for a free coffee. They've had a big change since we were there last Monday. Perspex screens have been added to help with social distancing! My blip attempts to show it.

Next was what should have been a quick food shop, but as it happens, it took over an hour and cost much more than I anticipated. Oh well.

The last stop was the pharmacy we visited last Friday, to collect the tablets they'd brought over for G (from their Ajman branch). Unfortunately, their card machine wasn't working (!!!) so we've got to go back tomorrow. G already has a plan in her head... :))
