A "Crowded" Day on a Northumberland Beach

We have some fabulous beaches up here on the Northumberland Coast - and look how crowded they get on a sunny day in the school summer holidays! ;-))

My younger brother & his wife, who live "down south" are on holiday up here in their motorhome for a few days. Currently they're staying at Beadnell, so we had a daytrip to visit them and walked south along Beadnell Beach to Low Newton and back along the coastal path. As we approached Low Newton we got this nice view towards the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle with some of Embleton beach in the foreground.

Although it was quite sunny there was a strong wind, which was blowing the sand around pretty vigorously at times. I found it tricky to capture the effect on a still photo: the first extra shows my best effort. (The chap in the photo is a random innocent bystander.)

A few minutes later we were treated to a couple of kestrels hovering, no doubt looking for a snack and I managed a reasonable shot of one of them - see the second extra.

We just got home in time for our weekly Zoom camera club meeting which lasted two and a half hours, with two members showing some images they'd been taking during lockdown. They were brilliant - very creative. Hence the lateness of my upload of today's blip.

Altogether a most enjoyable day, we're so lucky to live in such a super part of the country.
