Flea-Bitten Cone

Only noticed the little slip of paper with the name when I looked at the photo. The scientific name was on there too - conus pulicarius. The shell is home to a venomous mollusk. They’re found in northern Australia, PNG, The Cocos (Keeling) Islands and parts of Polynesia, according to wiki. Sometimes I wonder how I survived growing up in SE Queensland.

Thanks for hosting Ingeborg.
