Uttershill

Although I've been busy all day, I had to experience the phenomenon of a genuinely hot day in Penicuik! With A off hiking and camping with the dog (successfully climbing Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ), I took the opportunity to go somewhere that Django wouldn't like: up a narrow, road to Uttershill Castle. It's a ruin [see extra] overlooking the town that someone had ideas of "doing up" about 25 years ago, but nothing's happened. It must be ten years ago since I was last up there and took summer/winter panoramas [see extras]. The trees have grown significantly and, in truth, the hot and hazy weather wasn't the best for views.

For reference, the Estate is beyond the trees to the far left of the photo
