A very special man

We chose a good day for a return drive to Edinburgh, to take Daughter Two home. It was quite warm when we left Oban, but dull and misty for a lot of the way. As we approached the Land of the East, however, it brightened up and the sun came out. After leaving Doune we stopped at the wonderful David Stirling monument for a break and a cuppa. David was the founder of the SAS and his family home is nearby.

We didn't stop in Edinburgh long, just long enough for an indoor picnic lunch; we left at 2.30 and were home by 6pm, having stopped on the way for a break. We'd planned to stop beside Loch Iubhair,  but the car park and lochside were so foul with rubbish that we carried on. How can people be so disgustingly filthy? We stopped by the river in Glen Lochy instead.

Quote of the Day:

Terri Swearingen - "We are living on this planet as if we had another one to go to."
