An ordinary life....

Over the hills and far away...

Due to the heat forecast Lola had an early walk with R.  This gave us the rest of the day to please ourselves.

After lunch Alan headed out with Vickie, and David, Lola and I got in the car with no real idea where we were heading.  When we got to the end of the road we turned left and headed towards the Ochil Hills.

Within minutes we found ourselves on a little single track road we haven't explored before, climbing higher into the Ochils, with a stunning view over the Strathearn valley and towards Loch Lomond (see extra)  We will definitely head up that road the next time I am trying to get a sunset shot.

We carried on, up over the Ochils on the Perthshire side and down the other side into Stirlingshire.  We stopped for a moment on the way back down to take my blip shot of the Forth Valley.  I'm amazed the view was so clear as it was quite a hazy day.  The high rise flats in the distance are in Falkirk.

We drove along the hillfoots through Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry, Dollar and Muckart, before  heading back home over Glendevon.  We are so lucky to have such beautiful countryside on our doorstep.

Once home we took up residence in the Gin Palace.  It's our 31st wedding anniversary on Monday, so that was all the excuse we needed to have a wee aperitif in the GP  not that we need and excuse :-)

Heavy rain and threatened thunder this evening meant Lola didn't get her evening walk.  Just as well she had a mad runabout in the garden and spent the evening sound asleep stretched out on the cool tiles.

Have a great weekend peeps :-))
