Decisions, decisions, decisions ......

Not mine to make fortumately.

Number 1 son Matthew was all lined up to work as the Chief Instructor for PGL at their Lou Valagran centre in the Ardèche region in the South of France. It's the same job he did last year so he is comfortable with it even though it carries a lot of responsibility.

Anyway, yesterday they sprung a surprise on him by offering him the position of Centre Manager, a considerable increase in responsibility and quite an honour/compliment for someone of his age (25). Understandably this has thrown him somewhat. Key reasons are his own self doubts (which by the way are quite unfounded but that is his personality) and the knowledge that it will be a much tougher season being out of his comfort zone and that will result in less free time to do the things he enjoys like kayaking and mountain biking.

Decision is due today I think and I am 100% behind him whatever route he chooses. Just wish I could be there to offer support if he does take the job. It might stop him plucking the hairs out of his beard which is what he does when he's under pressure :-)
