LET THE GAMES BEGIN....

... that time of the Year has brought about the start of the "Alternative Olympic Games" (AOG) and the teams from Down Under plan on making things really difficult for the Northern Hemisphere teams. Covid restrictions has meant our teams went into "training lockdown" a month ago with the organisers taking a lead off the Rugby League formed a "bubble" to allow the start on time.

The flag march went really well (check the crowd response in extra) we then saw the first event get underway.

It was the first time for this event in the Games! Pole sitting.
Well the Cattle Egrets took the medal with a staggering result. Goldie shown here, even had time to scratch around somewhat while waving to the crowd, their mates the cows of course!!

Meanwhile down the paddock a bit, Willie Wagtail (Wag for short) was found stretching out on the long fence (2nd extra) in prep for its floor gymnastics competition.

Later it was found Willie took a liking to the synchronised swimmers (3rd extra) who he found training in the winter sun.
An "blow me down" in the road walking event, a long outsider normally known for its "flutter" Polly Pigeon won the 10 metre event "hands down"!! (4th extra).

And all the while it was the horses Birthday today and they were found just lazing around! (5th extra)

So a BIG first day, some amazing results none better than Polly's result in the road walk event.

Enjoy and have a look in LARGE and join in the fun by checking the results from around the Globe by clicking on the "#AOG20201" tag bellow.
