Castles

Northumberland day 3.

After our breakfast of Kippers, scrambled egg and toast we were ready for today’s trip.

We headed back South towards Morpeth and stopped off at Druridge Country Park which has been restored from an open cast mine.
We enjoyed a pleasant morning walking around the lake and through the woods. There is also a beautiful beach but it was so busy we didn’t stay.

After our picnic lunch we headed North again following the coastal route towards Warkworth castle (our first of the day) unfortunately we were unable to go inside the castle as you needed to pre book, never the less we did manage to get some good photos.

Back in the car we had a drive through some very nice seaside towns before reaching Bamburgh. A walk over the dunes brought us to a beautiful beach and the doggies enjoyed a good run, on the way back I stopped to get some bee and butterfly shots.

We didn’t manage to visit the Castle as it was closed for the day.

All in all we had a wonderful day.
