Having hit the wall with not going anywhere ,we ventured out to the Dorothy McElroy Preserve , part of the Finger Lakes Land Trust.I was hoping for Montezuma  but it was already hot in the morning ,  E-Bird migration maps didn't seem to show anything moving yet , and I have a migraine. So we stayed a little closer to home. We didn't really get close to the swamp on their trails and no where near the lake that is nearby , but the meadows were full of dragonflies and a few damsel flies . There was also one lone female yellowthroat. We then drove a distance to a nursery and bought 2 dwarf pears and a service tree. The question of where the pears are to go of course came up and the answer is ..... somewhere in a sunny location. TBA. I hope.
