Mono Monday . . . Fir or Fur

Not having a pet I had to go for a tree.  Technically this is a Redwood Sempervirens and not part of the fir tree family but it is an evergreen coniferous tree as are firs.  I also like the fact Redwoods are among the oldest living  things on earth.  A small avenue of them have been planted on one of the walking paths on the hill.  Further up the hill fossil scallop shells can be found.  My hill has a long past and I like the thought that the redwoods will continue growing long after I"ve gone.
