Drenched!

A silly selfie taken on a really fun grade 1 scramble up Sour Milk Ghyll from Grasmere.

The rain didn’t let up for the whole day but that doesn’t really matter if you’re going to get soaked anyway. I will admit that going under/through the first cascade made me gasp, but in fact the water was surprisingly (relatively) warm and a ghyll scramble is an excellent wet weather activity.

The tiered waterfalls were torrential, so some of the side falls were taken instead of the central route, but these were slimy in part and foot placement was critical, so perhaps it was harder? In any case we had lots of laughs.
