Bar-Headed Goose

In among the the many Greylag geese up at the Heritage Park there was a new comer this morning.

A very knowledgeable young lad told me it was a Bar-Headed goose so called because of the two horseshoe shaped bars at the back of its head. My young friend though it had probably escaped from some wild fowl centre but there was no ring on its leg.

According to Google this goose flies extremely high and is able to navigate the Himalayas during migration.

I don't usually put similar photos on both my journals but today because of the unusual goose both journals will be almost identical
