The big puddle in the lane that I stomp around at lunchtime had receded enough to let me through with dry toes.

It was just as well as the detour I took the other day to get by takes me through fields and the cows were too close for my liking to risk it this time.

They seem to have enjoyed their way through all their root veggies - the field was strewn the other day and now there are hardly any left.
