Orrest Head

I've been up here before when it was pouring with rain and you could not see the lake at all.  It started to drizzle  on our way up but at least we can see the view. Orrest Head - supposedly the view that started Mr Alfred Wainwright on his hill walking career.  Alfred was born in Blackburn in 1907. He left school aged 13 to work as an office boy in Blackburn Borough Engineer’s Department. When he was 23, he managed a week’s holiday in the Lake District during which he climbed up here  and the stunning panoramic view (the weather was better that day) that unfolded before his eyes kindled a love affair with the Lake District that shaped the rest of his life. The rest is history. If you live in the Lakes you can't escape him.

Day  138 since lockdown and Day 14 of widespread face mask use in England
In recent test and trace operations in Cumbria, the county's public health team says about one in five people couldn't be traced because they'd given false or incorrect information.
Aberdeen faces a lockdown, according to my information on the ground, because of a foreign oil worker and pub crawls. Different causes of local spikes in different areas of the country show why  local test and trace people can do more thorough job, they know what their local population get up to.
